Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said he and other aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will neither retreat nor surrender but remain in the party and “fight for inclusivity”.
Wike’s camp, demanded Iyorchia Ayu’s resignation as a condition for resolving the crisis.The call for Ayu’s resignation is said to be on the grounds that the national chairman and the presidential candidate cannot be from the same region but Ayu is unyielding to the demand.

Governor Wike insisted that the constitution of the PDP stated that elective and party offices must be zoned which, should be respected.
He wondered why the former PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Walid Jibrin will be pressurised to resign and Ayu is excusing himself from keeping to doing what is right.
Wike said that One thing he has always told people is, if anybody is thinking, doing anything to think that they will leave PDP, foul.
