Lions Club organizes poster contest in Lekki
As part of an effort to promote peace, Lions Club International District 404A1, Nigeria, has held its Peace Poster Contest, 2021- 2022 District Finale at the Nike Art Gallery, Lekki, Lagos.
The District Governor, Fortune Wagbatsoma said for over 30 years, the event has been sponsored yearly, by the club to encourage kids between the ages of 11and 13 in local schools to express their vision of peace.
She added that the creation of the Peace Posters event gave children the opportunity to express their vision of peace and inspire the world, through art and creativity.
The DG also said the theme: “We Are All Connected” was suitably chosen in light of the current situation across the globe adding that the Lions International Peace Poster Contest has received entries from millions of children in over one hundred countries.

She further encouraged participating children, and those whose art pieces were selected as winners to proceed to the national finale and become one of the 23 merit winners at the global finale
The DG equally appreciated the efforts of the distinguished judges from the Nike Art Gallery.
In a similar vein, the District Chairperson, Lion Mary Onu, expressed her appreciation to the DG, for the encouragement and also to her team members on their efforts towards the success of the event.
She also acknowledged Lion Adeola Rotinwa for the supports and thanked the clubs that encouraged the children by sponsoring the Peace Poster in the schools and the Nike Art Gallery.
Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity.
