Hours after the supreme court judgement, President Bola Tinubu had on Thursday described the judgment by the Supreme Court Court as a welcome development with a promise to exceed expectations.
However, while President Tinubu has come out to celebrate his victory, notable Nigerians have condemned the judgement on the premise that electoral process should reflect the will of the people rather than the will of the INEC Chairman and the judges thereafter.
Charley Boy Oputa, son of Late Justice Oputa on his twitter handle posted while quoting ~Dr Ayo “That you sit in Aso Rock does not make you a President. INEC/Appeal Court/Supreme Court can’t make you a president. Only the will of the people can make you The President. Without the will of the people you are an impostor. No force on earth can make you legitimate other than the will of the people.
“All the Supreme Court did was pay your rent for Aso Rock. Pretend to be a president for now. Your image can desperately glue the walls of offices for the time being but your name will never have the honor of gracing the hearts of majority of Nigerians. This is one fulfilment that will forever elude you Sir. This is the truth.”
Another Nigerian and human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has denied Bola Tinubu as her president.
Such heart pouring of their minds on social media seems to reflect more, the will of the people than a personal justification speech rendered by the president.
