Air Peace

Minister of aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Obi Cubana and other notable Nigerians were on board the Air Peace maiden flight from Lagos Nigeria to London.

It is not the first time a Nigerian airline will go to London as a commercial flight, we have had some others do the same, Nigeria Airways, Belview, Arik and Medview Airlines and now Air Peace..

However, considering the sad end of some of the aforementioned airlines, Allen Onyema’s Air Peace seems to stand out when private airlines in Nigeria and abroad are listed.

In the maiden flight video published recently, and recorded by Nigeria multi billionaire – Obi Cubana, notable Nigerians were seen cheering up the success and leadership of the Air Peace director – Allen Onyema.

Some of the dignitaries present at the occasion include the Minister of aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, acting Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, the Chairman and CEO of United Nigeria Airlines, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), former Director General of NCAA, Board Member of Air Peace, Benedict Adeyileka and many others.

Many of the passengers on the Air Peace flight to London said the flight was long awaited and it signaled a new dawn in the travel industry in Nigeria, adding that Air Peace is a Nigerian project and Nigerians should be commended for making this possible.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Keyamo who was obviously elated by the result of the hard work and commitment he and others in government had made to pave way for the airline to begin operations to London, promised that the Federal Government would continue to protect the airline and other Nigerian carriers that might want to operate international service.

He said the commencement of direct Lagos-London route by the Airline would ease the pressure on naira, while the demand for foreign exchange by Nigerians and foreign airlines would reduce.

Also reacting to the success of the flight, Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria – Mr. Peter Obi, has joined in congratulating Air Peace on the record success.

Obi posted on his Facebook handle
“I join other well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, and his entire team at Air Peace Ltd, as they commence their direct flights to London, United Kingdom.

Their inaugural flight from Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London is scheduled for midnight, 12:10 am on 30th March 2024, just a few hours from now. This feat, as achieved by Air Peace, not only, arguably, offers unbeatable fares to Nigerian travelers, but also helps us save the much-needed foreign exchange in the country. This will further create jobs for our people and contribute immensely to our economic growth.

I salute his resilience and courage in actualizing this dream while appreciating all those who contributed to the success of this project.
More Nigerian businesses will grow to compete favorably on the global stage with the right leadership and government support. This is part of our commitment to the New Nigeria which is becoming ever POssible.”
