The lawyer who is assisting the Labour Party in the Presidential Election Tribunal, Ben Anachebe, has informed Nigerians that, with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,’s approval, the Labour Party’s IT team is capable of obtaining data from the BVAS machine.

Ben Anachebe said this while providing an update on the status of the presidential election tribunal case. Because of earlier rumors that the BVAS machine was reset after the presidential election so that the gubernatorial election could be held using the BVAS machine, Ben Anachebe’s statement will be welcomed news to Nigerians.

He asserts that the Labour Party’s IT team is still capable of retrieving information from the BVAS system even if INEC deletes it.

Ben Anachebe further said that while the Labour Party had submitted some election results from a few states to the tribunal, INEC had not given them all the paperwork they required to move the matter through.
He pointed out that INEC had not completely provided the Labour Party with the details of the BVAS.
