The national government has officially announced that Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9th and 10th, 2024, will be observed as public holidays in honor of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
This public holidays announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued on Sunday by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.

Tunji-Ojo urged individuals to embrace and practice the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, which were exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Additionally, Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to Nigerian Muslim believers for the successful completion of the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan, as conveyed in a congratulatory message by the Ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.
