An investigation has launched by the Lagos State Police Command into the death of Gihan Mbelu, a 42-year-old man, which is said to be the chairman of the Victoria Garden City (VGC) in the Lekki area of the state.

However, It was gathered that after hours of the vehicle stationed at the same spot, residents of the area raised suspicions which prompted them to approach the vehicle.
It happened that Mbelu had reportedly parked his Mercedes C300 4Matic car, running for several hours while he sat motionless in the car.
Nevertheless, an eyewitness, Chukwudi Iwuchukwu, who shared details of the incident on Facebook, stated that upon sighting that the occupant of the vehicle was motionless, residents attempted to wake him up but all efforts to do so proved futile.

Iwuchukwu wrote, “His car was stationary, running for hours, while he lay motionless. They rushed him to the hospital, where they confirmed his death.
“I guess we lost him to the silent killer, high blood pressure. The rate at which 40-year-old men are dropping dead to this silent killer is becoming alarming and worrying.”
Benjamin Hundeyin,the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, has Reacted to the incident in a post on his X page on Saturday. He disclosed that an investigation into the incident had begun.
Hundeyin wrote, “Investigation has commenced into this.”
