Rufai Oseni, a journalist with Arise news television has described Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s open letter to US President, Joe Biden as a clear narrative of the 2023 general elections in the country.

Chimamanda Ngozi had in her letter, revealed that the election was fraught with rigging by the ruling All Progressives Congress and asked the US not to congratulate Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president elect.

Although the letter has generated dichotomy and discourses, Oseni however said he is still waiting for anyone to show him one lie in Chimamanda’s letter.

”Chimamanda’s article was a clear narrative of what happened in Nigeria during the elections.”

In another tweet, he said ”Still waiting show me one lie in chimamanda’s article.”

It would be recalled that in the letter published on Thursday, April 6, Adichie alleged in her letter that the election was marred by irregularities and the failure of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to follow its stipulated guidelines for the presidential election.

She went on to warn that it would “tarnish America’s self-proclaimed commitment to democracy and give the sheen of legitimacy to an illegitimate process”, if Biden recognizes Tinubu’s presidency.

However, Onanuga said Adichie’s letter, which he described as fiction, was inspired by the monumental loss of her tribesman Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP.
